Homemaker, You Are Beautiful

Dear Homemaker,

You are beautiful. You’ve been Created in God’s Image. The choice you’ve made to be at home caring for your family is out of love. While there are hopefully more good days than bad, you still face those tough times. There are days when you don’t feel beautiful because of sick children, with Mt. Washmore growing larger by the moment, and the never ending stack of dishes being piled in the sink along with all the other chaos that may be looming throughout your home. You’ve probably spent more days in a pair of pajamas than you care to admit, but that is okay because you are beautiful.

There are days when we don't feel it, but we are Beautiful. We are a beautiful creation of God. We are Created in God's Image. Day 11 of 31 Days of Homemaking. frogslilypad.net

You are Beautiful, You are Created in God's Image

No matter what you see in the mirror at this moment, you are beautiful because you have been Created in God’s Image. What does that say to you about the value of women to God? We are greatly valued. Yes, you were created to be our husband’s helper (Genesis 2:20) and you chose to be at home with your precious children, but God sees you as more than just a cook, diaper changer, and balancer of the checkbook. He sees you as a beautiful creation; a creation He created so you can give Him the glory in everything that goes on in your home.

On top of caring for your home, you may be in the middle of raising and training little ones. Those are tiring years, I lived through them and came out on the other side. You can do this; these years will not last forever. If you are in the phase where the training is quickly coming to an end like me, you’ve got this. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel and if we persevere we can come out a winner.

No matter who you see in the mirror – a worn out someone still wearing the same pajamas after three days, someone who is battling with self-image, or someone who seems to have it all together. Remember this, you are beautiful, you are loved, you are somebody. You were Created in God’s Image.
